Vajra Bodhi Sea (VBS) is a Monthly Journal of Orthodox Buddhism. The first issue was published in April 1970.
The Venerable Master Hua says,
"We must return to our origin and go back to the sea of Bodhi. That’s why we publish a magazine called 'Vajra Bodhi Sea.' "
Thus the first English-only issue of “ Vajra Bodhi Sea” was printed by Gold Mountain Dhyana Monastery. After the City of 10,000 Buddhas was acquired, the magazine became a bilingual (English and Chinese) publication, its Chinese name being “The Monthly Journal of the City of 10,000 Buddhas.” In May 1992, the magazine adopted a new bilingual format with English and Chinese side by side.
